Make up a rating system and rate this book. Explain your idea.

If I had to rate this book I would rate it a 8 out of 10 stars. As a reader if your into love stories, and a little bit of mystery. At the same time it has a bit of a medieval feel to it. You can get a taste of the past and future as to the connection in the story. As an example in the beginning of each chapter there is a quote that relates to the chapter. "And sometimes thro' the mirror blue The Knights come riding two and two: she hath no loyal knight and true, The Lady of Shallot". Explaining how the two main characters Will and Elaine Are a knight and Elaine is The Lady of Shallot. My personal opinion on the book is I'm very into the mystery type romance books. Like which guy is going to choose which girl or even is the step brother going to interfere. As I continue to read it more it makes me anxious the better. That is why I gave it a 8/10 instead of a 6 or even 7. This book would  lead more to the 16+ audiences. For that specific group they can relate more to Elaine's situations that she goes through in the book. It puts the reader in her shoes so you can get a personal visual as she experiences her new life. This would be easier for someone of this age instead of 12 or 13 year olds. For those who have parents that move to state to state can see how Ellie goes about her new life as a new student at Avalon High. As the main part of the main plot of the story. Will and Elaine's relationship throughout the novel diffidently gives it the stars. The intense feels that Elaine gives off to Will, but it's so hard cause she doesn't know how he feels. At the same time she has two big problems. Jennifer and Lance; which is supposed to be his Girlfriend and best friend had a little hook up behind his back. Plus the interesting mysterious step brother of Will. With all the chaos they have going on in their home. Marco's sneaky ways and witch like grin he gives off makes him intimidating. The biggest problem of all is he knows the secret between Lance and Jennifer. With all the intense drama and love triangles going on in the story overall it is a very interesting story. What it lacks is the pace of the story. Sometimes in the book it feels like it drags on, and I will start to lose interest in what I read. If they fix that minor problem I would of gave it a 10 stars out of 10. Now since the book is basically over now it starts to get more interesting. At the end of the day yes I would recommend this book to friends if their interested in this type of genre.

If the main character was a geometric shape. What would she be?

Elaine is a very practical character in the story. If Elaine was a shape she would be an isosceles triangle. Every isosceles triangle has two sides that are equal to each other. Then the last side is not equal to the other two lengths. The sides stands for Elaine's personality throughout the novel. One minute in the book she really doesn't care about boys or her appearance; then the next she wants to wear makeup and skirts to impress a boy. In the beginning of the novel Elaine explains that she the type of girl that puts her hair in a ponytail, doesn't wear the high status clothing, and doesn't wear makeup. "But telling myself that over and over again didn't stop me from fishing out my shortest skirt and using eyeliner and even mousse on the night of the Broadneck game". Now that being unlike her she even said "I've never been a very girly girl. I mean, I've never collected stuffed animals or cared too much about clothes. I've never had a manicure, and my hair is all one length because I'm too lazy to get a hair cut or styled regular;y". Clearly by both quotes you can see the isosceles effect of how she went from a tomboy to a barbie in the making. Now that she has found feelings for William to her its a whole new experience. Back at home she never really cared for love interest or boys to be exact. William; he changed that whole perspective to Ellie. "It was like we were in a different world, a sun-dappled oasis away from it all". When she is around him time stops;nothing else matters but him and her. Only when Will is around she is that non equal side of the triangle. She tries to fight the feelings for him inside too keep her equal sides so he wont know the truth. The truth that she's falling for him. She continue's to push herself into saying "We are just friends". That's when the un equal length comes into play again. she tries so hard to impress him, but doesn't even see it. At the same time the things he brought for her or even the unexplained appearances makes her think. Should i try harder? Should i show a different side of me? 'I mean sure I was the girl who'd made him laugh- who'd sat on a rock in the woods and listened as he'd told me about his problems with his dad. I was just a funny girl he'd met. He obviously liked me: The day after he'd given me a rose; the day i made the track team. I got home to find a e-mail from him". You can see the obvious connection that she has for him. Her best friend Nancy always told Ellie that guys will never fall in love with a girl that always makes him laugh. The two different sides of Ellie will continue to grow more in the story. It's a matter of which length she will choose to be.

"A William Wagner the girl I was apparently failling head over heels in love with".

"And no matter what Nancy might think about guys not falling in love withh girls who make them laugh, I wasn't changing a thing. Because if that's what Will wanted, that's what I was going to give him. Even if i broke my heart in a thousand pieces doing so"

Ellie  Harrison or i should say Elaine. She lives with both of her parents, but doesn't get to live an average teenage life. Her parents are on a sabbatical as her father writes a book about a "plain" sword, and her mother also writing a book about " Elaine" from medieval times. Elaine and her family then move to Maryland where again she starts a new life. She goes running every once and a while then one day sees a tall handsome young man as they both catch each other eye. Going to school the next day she spots his presence again. As weird as she felt about him; about actually liking a boy he shows up to her house... unannounced.

Ellie is unlike any other female. She's more laid back, chill, but very down to earth. Most teenagers would struggle with moving to school to school constantly. Ellie on the other hand doesn't seem as bothered by it. Maybe its because shes used to her parents crazy "medieval" obsession. Boys were never really on her mind like that. She's certainly not the type to awe over a boy; until she meet A. William Wagner. He is a student council; president at Avalon High, star football player, and most of all the biggest leader of the whole school. Unfortunately this "star" has a girlfriend, Jennifer Gold. The most beautiful barbie at school. The  typical blonde cheerleader everyday popular girl. To Ellie  there's no chance that he would like a girl like me when hes dating the most popular girl at school. However uninvited William Wagner was at Ellie's front door asking to see me. Ellie could only imagine " How does he know where i live "; " Doesn't he have a girlfriend? ". One thing that she doesn't want him or anyone to find out what she hates; is that shes named after a girl who killed herself over a guy.

"It's not exactly cool to be named after someone who killed herself over a guy"(pg.7).

With all the medieval chaos going on at home. If Ellie continues to grow stronger feelings for Will it can definitely come back to haunt her. If Jennifer finds out that he has been at Ellie's house it can turn into a cat fight. Even worse Will would have to choose between a serious live triangle. A reference that could happen is her "name". How in the early 13th century a girl kills herself over a guy because the deep love she shared for him he didn't share back. The same grief past Elaine died from can be the same fate for Ellie. If i was in Ellie's position personally first i will know my place as a new student. No matter how much i like the guy if he's with someone else that's my cue to not make a fool out of myself. I would tell Will that you must tell your girlfriend where you are so she won't get the wrong idea. Yea it stinks when your crush is with another girl, but if he flirts with you its time to step back. Therefore, if i was in Ellie's head i would think what if i was jennifer? I would be upset if my boyfriend is going to someone else's house, and when the girl asks about me you don't want to answer. With that mindest Ellie will then make the smart decsion why; because its just girl code.
